Summer is high time for travel, what are your summer vacation style tips?

Whether I’m traveling abroad, visiting the cottage or taking a sunny stay-cation at the local beach or patio, I always reach for a maxi dress and ask myself – what would Nicole Richie do?!
Maxi dresses are effortlessly chic and comfortable, especially in billowy bohemian fits. They’re available in a wide variety of styles to suit every taste and often come in bold colours and playful prints. I love the latest hi-low (mixi) styles and maxis with creative straps like this one.
I love this black and lace printed maxi dress because it’s elegant, yet relaxed enough to dress down with flats. The open back and simple ties make it easy to throw on over a bikini too!
It’s fully lined, so even though it’s open in the back, there’s enough coverage in the front to skip the bra. If you’re not comfortable with that, you can always wear a lacy bandeau.
The rest of the look is super simple! When I’m on vacation, I tend to keep my accessories to a minimum, my hair and makeup natural and I don’t bother with a purse – unless it’s a beach bag!
To complete my beachy maxi dress look, I wore metallic (and comfy) gladiator sandals, sunglasses and a simple woven bracelet. There’s beauty in the simplicity of this vacation look!
